If you had the audience of the GB, what is your #1 question you would ask them?
by Darth Fader The Sequel inthere are a million of them and mine is by no means the most important question to ask them if i only had one shot at it.
but, i have always wondered what kind of bs excuse they would give as an answer to this question: "brother goober bum, given that there are both male and female partakers here on earth who claim to be of the 'anointed' and plan on being of the 144,000 ruling with christ in heaven for eternity........ why are the female 'anointed' treated as submissive, second class citizens and why is their opinion on doctrinal matters, matters of teaching and reproving, anything at all.... why are they not recognized while here on earth even though you claim that jesus has selected them to become angels to rule with him?

Are You A Patriotic Person Since Leaving The Witnesses?
by minimus ini'm into politics but i still don't consider myself patriotic..

No, not at all.
Too close to the we're-the-only-ones-who-are-right-and-the-rest-of-you-all-suck mentality I was raised in. Been there, done that.
If anything, I'm now a more humanistic person, and if I were to have any "cause" it would be humanism and not patriotism.

whether the Jewish or SDA Saturday, or Sunday, the Pope has a point
by nonjwspouse ini keep liking what i hear from this pontiff.
he lamentes not keeping a day of no work to spend with the family.. .
campobasso, italy (ap) pope francis has lamented the abandoning of the traditionally christian practice of not working on sundays, saying it has a negative impact on families and friendships....... at one point, the pope, speaking off the cuff, encouraged parents to spend more time with children.

Do You Like or Dislike Algebra? Why and Why not?
by Scott77 injuly 28, 2012is algebra necessary?by andrew hacker .
a typical american school day finds some six million high school students and two million college freshmen struggling with algebra.
in both high school and college, all too many students are expected to fail.

One piece of advice I will give when it comes to tackling the algebraic aspects of calculus is one I emphasize again and again to my students: TAKE YOUR TIME!!! - QUENDI
COGNAISANCE already commented on this but I will too. I have come to realize that the main source of frustration in mathematics for me is timed testing. If I sit and spend several hours on homework or a workshop assignment, I not only get A's, I get 100%. It's timed tests/quizzes that kill me (even though I've been doing quite well this summer)
In any other timed test in any other class, there is PLENTY of time not only to finish the exam, but I always spend the last 15 min/half hour going over my answers and looking for mistakes. It's in that 15-20 min or so that I get back points that give me the "A" as opposed to the "B".
However, with mathematics exams I am going through problems a breakneck speed just to finish the test on time. There is no "extra time" at the end to recheck work. The exam is turned in as-is, for better or worse.
I mentioned this to my calc instructor and he wasnt surprised, he found that to be the case even when he took exams. Anyway, I think he took my experience to heart, as our second midterm just this Thursday seemed shorter than the first. I actually finished with 20 minutes to spare where I went back and checked my work. I even found a "fatal" error in one of my answers and had to redo the problem. If I hadn't had the time, the mistake would have probably cost me an A.

I'm taking Calculus right now. . . .
And you would think where I'd get hung up is in all that fancy calc stuff like derivatives, and derivatives of derivatives . . ..
But nooooooo. . . . . . all of those concepts I've got down pat.
Where do I always screw up? In the friggin algebra!
Drives me absolutely mad!

'She wants worshippers in congregations to be notified when a fellow churchgoer is disfellowshipped from the faith for sex abuse.
Karen told us: “They are going to have to do something, I’m not going to let this go.”'
Is Karen aware that others before her have been disfellowshipped and labelled apostates for trying to reform the cult's policy with regard to pedophiles?
Personally, I wish her the best and hope she's successful.

I have an iPad, my father just bought a Nexus.
He loves it, but it really is no less expensive than an iPad (I think it was about $500).
I like the iPad, but for my purposes, a laptop would have been better. That being said, a nexus doesnt compare to a laptop either. So. . . .
If you need a tablet, get the iPad.
Final answer!

Entertainment for International Delegates
by Listener inbibl3thumper has posted a youtube of the celebrations that took place for german delegates.

it's hard to believe that they are now using the kingdom hall to sing pop songs and for dancing.

Something to reflect on:
This "entertainment" evidently had the society's blessing, if it wasn't requested by the society itself (which I believe it was).
HOWEVER, could you imagine the shit storm if a body of elders arranged such "entertainment" without direction from the society?
In other words, it's a cult.

"It's not religious..." Wait... What???
by dynamiterose77 inmy friend, mike works as a massage therapist, and there is a woman at the shop that is super-jw-woman and is constantly hounding him with things.. today, he's messaging me and he tells me that she was trying to push a brochure or something on him.
he said he'd really rather not read a religious pamphlet.. so... she says, "it's not religious... it's from god.".
isn't that kinda what religious means?

This comes from the people who have been told a generation is really TWO generations overlapping so, hell, sure, a pamphlet about god isn't religious.
